My Dearest Yogis,

When I moved to the Yukon less than 2 years ago I was nervous and unsure of myself. I had very limited perceptions of what the real great white north would be like, and the perceptions I did hold were skewed. Now with hindsight, I have to say that I have found more love and warmth here on the 60th parallel than any other place I have ever been.

On my arrival I was blown away to be accepted by some so quickly! I am humbled by those initial relationships that have grown and flourished, giving way to more openness, more opportunity, more connection! Never before have I had the honour to share myself and my practice of yoga so freely with a community (a kula) of life minded people, and for this I truly thank you!

I have learned a great deal over the last 2 years, about yoga, about connection, about life. I believe this practice that we share is so much more than fitness and stretching, breathing in unison and sharing blips of mindfulness. I believe the fruits of this practice reconnect us with ourselves, with each other and with all that is. I believe the small connections we share in the studio and in the park translate to deeper love and support for one another, and though we all walk through this human life on our own path, with our own journey to discover and learn from I hope we may pause as often as possible to have gratitude and to share our compassionate hearts with one another, to hold space for one another, so that we can continue to grow, continue to transform, and so we can remember always that we are not alone.

This time in my life has been so incredibly impacting. 2 years ago I had never even been to the Yukon and now I cannot possibly imagine my life not containing this chapter. My heart swells with gratitude to each of you for sharing a piece of this with me. For sharing your practice, you dedication, your lives, your sorrows, your triumphs, and your hearts!

The light that burns within me recognizes and very very deeply bows to that very same light and life source that burns within you.

With much love and gratitude and until our paths cross again,
Namaste
